Increasingly FaceBook  is taking the place of the traditional Blog.  Whether you are a social media fan or not, the format certainly allows immediate sharing of news, musings and photos.  So, for the moment, I've decided not to update this page.  There's still lots of great stories archived here - including linked photo albums - they are well worth a good browse!  


I wrote this final piece - a personal reflection on my friendship with the legendary blues guitarist Hubert Sumlin - not long after he passed away in early 2012.
Long-time guitarist for Howlin' Wolf, Hubert was an incredibly influencial blues musician - and a real gentleman.

Blues Music Awards, Memphis and more!

New album release date - plus Summer festival round-up 


It’s been a whirlwind of activity over the past several months in Australia…finally I have a chance to catch up with you all!

I’m very excited to announce my brand new album ‘Blues Woman’ on Yellow Dog Records is due for release on 5 May, a couple of days before the Blues Music Awards. ‘Blues Woman’ features 15 tracks – 13 original tunes plus a couple of intriguing covers – and was recorded at Wire Studio in Austin, TX just before I left the States for my Summer festival season down-under. Brand New Recording - and other news! 

While ‘The Preacher’ drove steadily south from Portland, OR, with a load of gear destined for the studio, I busied myself writing new songs and colluding with producer, Mark ‘Kaz’ Kazanoff. A brand new recording project was taking shape!

Now, just a few short, intense weeks later, we’ve packed and relocated for the Summer Festival season in Australia - and I now have a new post as Official Ambassador for the Australian Blues Festival!

New Projects, Partners & Plans! 

Well - It's happening, folks!  I am recording a new studio album in September, again joining forces with Memphis label, Yellow Dog Records. Following the success of the ‘Lucky 13’ album, I plan to continue the fruitful collaboration with my mates Mark ‘Kaz’ Kazanoff (producer) and Stuart Sullivan (engineer) at Wire Recordings in Austin, TX.
